In short:

Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins are both set to miss the fourth Ashes Test at the MCG due to injury after taking an unassailable 3-0 series lead.

Lyon limped off the Adelaide Oval with a hamstring injury on day five, and Cummins said he "doubts" he will play Boxing Day as he was only willing to risk his back as long as the series was alive.

It marks the first time since January 2011 that Australia has a chance of picking a frontline spinner other than Lyon on home soil.
