Philippines police say they have several "working theories" for why the Bondi Beach gunmen visited the country, including that they may have been on a holiday, or waiting in the area to meet someone.

While in Davao, the gunmen reportedly visited a gun shop, an Islamic centre, an ATM and a beachside resort, the police source said.

What's next?

Police are still investigating why the pair visited the Philippines in the weeks before the attack at Bondi Beach, with working theories including they were "visiting on holiday" or "waiting to meet someone".
