Gregory John Walker has been sentenced to 10 years and nine months in jail over the death of Arthur Haines, who died from injuries sustained in a Sydney firebombing attack in 1998.

Walker was charged with the 13-year-old's murder in 2022, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter ahead of his Supreme Court trial.

The 58-year-old must serve at least six-and-a-half years behind bars, and will be first eligible to apply for parole in 2029, taking into account time already served.
