Police investigate alleged daylight assault of woman at Burleigh Heads National Park

The incident on Friday is the second alleged assault on a woman at the Burleigh Heads National Park in just over a month.
Queensland Police said there was no evidence to suggest the daylight assaults were linked.
A 38-year-old woman suffered minor injuries after she was allegedly grabbed from behind and physically assaulted by an unknown man, while walking in Burleigh Heads National Park about 5:30pm on Friday.
A police spokesperson said two members of the public — a man and a woman — intervened before the male offender fled in a northerly direction.
Police are appealing for anyone with information, including the couple who intervened, to come forward.
No physical description of the man has been released, with police asking anyone with relevant video of Burleigh Heads National Park or Goodwin Terrace to contact them.

It comes just over a month after a 19-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by a man in the same area.
The woman was allegedly grabbed from behind at about 3:35pm on Sunday, November 2, but managed to fight the man off by pushing him into a bush.
Police deployed a helicopter to search the area but the offender was not found.
At the time, Chief Superintendent Kylie Rigg said the incident was "a significant concern" because "it happened in broad daylight, in such a busy area".
