Warner Bros Discovery board rejects rival $163bn bid from Paramount

Warner Bros's board has rejected Paramount's $US108.4 billion ($A163.7 bn) hostile bid, saying it failed to provide adequate financing assurances.

The board also said it found Paramount's offer "inferior" to the merger agreement with rival Netflix's.

What's next?

Warner Bros has not yet set a date for a shareholder vote on the deal but it is expected to happen sometime midway through next year.
