Premier Roger Cook handed extra powers as pro-development laws pass WA parliament

Legislation giving the WA premier more power to approve "priority" projects has passed parliament.

The State Development Act gives Roger Cook and a government-appointed bureaucrat powers to approve anything deemed of "strategic or economic significance". 

Critics say the laws put too much power in the hands of too few people.
