As 2025 draws to a close, it's time to look back at the new Australian artists that soundtracked our year across triple j Unearthed radio.
The list of artists is a stunning mix of diversity, creativity and vision that points at a very bright future for Australian music indeed. Throughout the turmoil of streaming, algorithms, a constantly changing landscape and a battle to keep Australian artists front and center on their own soil, it's reassuring to see that the quality remains unshakeable.
This is a countdown of the 50 most spun artists on Unearthed radio this year and topping the list is the one, the only, the inimitable Velvet Trip! With their Glimmers EP and a handful of stunning follow up singles, Velvet Trip have been on the highest of rotation throughout 2025 and we can't think of a better artist to lead the line.
