Mayhem at Brisbane Lady Gaga concert as long queues blamed on 'technical issues'

Fans experienced major delays trying to get into Tuesday night's Lady Gaga concert at Brisbane's Lang Park, with some missing the start of the show altogether due to "technical issues".
In a statement, a spokesperson for the stadium said the gates opened 50 minutes later than they should have due to those issues, which they said were identified during a sound check.

The concert was scheduled to begin at 7pm, but the star did not take the stage until about 7:40pm.
A spokesperson for the venue said 95 per cent of patrons were inside by 7:40pm, with queues cleared by 7:52pm.
The MAYHEM Ball tour is Lady Gaga's first tour of Australia since 2014's ArtRave: The Artpop Ball tour.
Among fans who experienced long queues was Xerishya Gorobao, who said she arrived at the stadium at about 5:11pm to find "huge" lines which snaked from the train station.
She said she began lining up at about 6pm.
"I was scared and panicking ... we got in at almost 7pm thinking we were going to miss the start of the show," Ms Gorobao told the ABC.
Abbe Lewis was one fan who said she missed the first few songs Lady Gaga played.
She said once the concert began, security had been able to move everyone through quickly, and she questioned why that could not have been done earlier.

'Everything was snaking through'
Speaking to ABC Radio Brisbane from outside the stadium on Tuesday evening, other fans reported difficulties entering the venue.
One said they had waited for more than an hour before being told they were not in the queue to get in at all.

Another said the gates did not open until 6pm, despite having been told to arrive at about 5pm to get in early.
"I think they lost control out of lines E and D," another said.
"Everything was snaking through and then they lost control of where the lines were going and then it's turned into ... it's disorganised."
The same fan said she was concerned about the lack of places to buy water while in the queue.
"You don't want to be a Karen about it but I think there's some things that obviously could have been organised better."

Stadium to perform 'extensive debrief'
Helen told ABC Radio Brisbane that while she had queued for 30 to 45 minutes, and had seen some "rather chaotic" scenes out the front of the stadium, it was quickly forgotten once she got inside.
"The show was so utterly fantastic ... I think [the queuing] paled into a minor irritation,"she said.
"It was a sensational show."

The stadium said it would perform an "extensive debrief" with stakeholders in the coming days.
Lang Park's Andrew Stephenson said there were "lessons" for the venue after Tuesday evening, but he appreciated that fans arrived early.
The next concert at the stadium will be AC/DC on Sunday evening, and fans are again asked to arrive early, ahead of the gates opening at 5pm.
