In short:

SA's Aboriginal affairs minister has imposed strict conditions on the government's planned redevelopment of the North Adelaide golf course, but some members of the Kaurna community say the safeguards fall short.

One elder says proceeding with the development shows the government has "no respect for our history", but another says the new protections are "great news".

What's next?

Among the conditions is that if Aboriginal remains or objects are discovered, the "preferred course of action" is to design around them, and if that's not possible, the government will negotiate with native title holders about reburial.
